I purchased this quad recently at my local Walmart for around 5 dollars thinking it would make a decent neutral colored smokey eye. As it turns out this quad is perfect for creating a smokey look as well as a neutral day look. I love how the colors are labeled (it's hard to see from the photos because they have been used, but they are labeled lid, crease, brow bone, and outer corner). These colors are all very pigmented and have good staying power.
Swatches over Urban Decay Primer Potion Original
left to right: lid, brow bown, crease, outer corner
I also should note that the lid color is similar to MAC's Satin Taupe eyeshadow (though the shimmer in the Maybelline quad is a little bit more chunky) and the outer corner shade is almost an exact dupe for MAC's show-stopper eyeshadow:
Here are a couple of looks I created using only this quad over Urban Decay Primer Potion:
Following the suggested placement exactly as described on the packaging, with the outer corner shade smudged alone upper lash line:
For a smokier look I simply added some of the outer corner color farther into the crease and blended it up higher:
Overall this quad is very versatile and good quality, I definitely recommend trying it, and you can't beat the price!
Cheers!
